Abstract
In streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats, Nervilia plicata alcoholic stem extract (5Â mg/kg) was orally administered daily for10 days. A decrease in the sugar level, serum urea, creatinine and LPO (kidney and pancreas) and regeneration of the kidney tissue were observed justifying the utility of plant in the therapy of type 2 diabetes.
