Abstract
⺠Physiologic signals contain a degree of information-rich structure, or complexity. ⺠Aging and disease are often linked to reduced physiologic complexity. ⺠Diminished physiologic complexity may underlie loss of system functionality. ⺠Interventions designed to restore complexity may optimize outcomes in older adults.
