Abstract
⺠Tumor-initiating cells derived from an atypical meningioma have been identified. ⺠These meningioma-initiating cells have the ability to self-renew and differentiate. ⺠Microarray studies identified aberrant cell-cycle genes CDKN2A, p14ARF, and CDKN2B. ⺠CD44 and ALCAM/CD166 may be biomarkers for meningioma-initiating cells. ⺠Meningioma-initiating cells are useful for modeling meningioma development.
