- Coalescence of water droplets covered by asphaltenes is studied.
- Droplets quickly coalesce up to equilibrium diameter.
- Limited coalescence theory indicates a critical coverage ca. 3.5Â mg/m2.
- Critical coverage is close to packing (85%).
- Similar critical coverage is reported from literature for other stabilizers.
