Abstract
- Polyacrylate/silica core-shell particles were formed without pretreatment of SiO2.
- The effect of silica on the polymer in growth was investigated.
- A formation mechanism in the presence of an electrostatic repulsion was proposed.
- The polyacrylic precursors absorbed SiO2 particles to lower the interfacial free energy.
- The core-shell composite particles formed at early polymerization.
