Abstract
⺠In granite fractures, colloids showed earlier breakthrough than the conservative tracer. ⺠Under electrostatic conditions unfavorable for colloid attachment, retention was observed. ⺠The nature and morphology of particles play an important role in their retention behavior. ⺠Under low water velocities, a significant filtration of smectite colloids is expected.
