Abstract
⺠The release of a dye from PVOH films in hydro-alcoholic medium was described. ⺠Physicochemical differences of the polymer matrix influenced the release kinetics. ⺠Molecular weight and degree of hydrolysis played a key role on the release properties. ⺠Due to its non-solvent behavior, ethanol hindered the release process. ⺠Tailored controlled release patterns were achieved.
