Abstract
⺠Disclike molecules with hydrophobic alkyl chains and hydrophilic disk cores were synthesized. ⺠The amphiphilic properties made it feasible to be self-assembled films with nanostructures. ⺠The arrangement and consequential hydrophobicity make it feasible to be a LC alignment layer.
