Abstract
This paper presents a new synthetic route that hybridize AgBr nanoparticles and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) on the basis of electrospinning nanofibers. Firstly, AgNO3 is added to the PVP solution. Then bromide ions react with silver ions to form AgBr nanoparticles by sol–gel technique. Lastly, PVP nanofibers containing AgBr nanoparticles are formed by electrospinning composite solution. The structure and morphology of the composite nanofibers what we obtained were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The existence of the AgBr nanoparticles was approved by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD) patterns.
