Abstract
We designed and developed a simple model of multi-chain polymer systems. The macromolecules consisted of identical beads were restricted to a simple cubic lattice with the excluded volume interactions only (an athermal system). The polymers were confined between two parallel impenetrable walls and were grafted with one-to-one end of the walls. The properties of the model sandwich brush were studied using Monte Carlo simulations. A Metropolis-like sampling algorithm with local changes of chain's conformation was used. The interactions between the brushes were analyzed and discussed. It was found that the interaction between two brushes depend mostly on the length of the chains and weaker on the number of chains.
