Abstract
Products of reaction between Cd perchlorate and N,N-dimethylselenourea in the presence of glycine carried out upon microwave treatment were identified as bundles of micrometer-long wires of Cd(OH)x decorated with CdSe nanoparticles. The morphology of the samples, in particular the degree of CdSe decoration and the size of CdSe nanoparticles has been governed through the adjustment of the reaction conditions like Cd:Se ratio and pH. Wire-like appearance of the samples produced may allow their easy integration in devices.
