Abstract
Different vehicles in offset ink formulation were found to give different resistance to detachment shear force. Our results show that during the early stage after printing, it is more difficult to detach mineral oil based ink than vegetable oil based ink. However, after ageing the energy required for ink detachment is similar for both types of ink. This paper provides explanation on how the vehicles in ink formulation can affect the energy required for ink detachment.
