Abstract
The raw material—aloxite used during the manufacturing of grinding tools was characterized by means of inverse gas chromatography (IGC). The surface properties of the different types of aloxite were determined including: (i) the specific surface area; (ii) the dispersive component of surface free energy γSD as well as the sensitivity of this parameter on the environment humidity; and (iii) acidity and basicity of the examined surfaces. The results of our experiments proved the usefulness of IGC in the characterization of this kind of materials.
