Abstract
⺠3-hexadecyl-imidazolium bromide exhibits thermotropic liquid crystalline phases. ⺠The peaks in XRD patterns indicate the structural order within the layers. ⺠Lyotropic liquid crystalline structures and self-assembly behavior studied. ⺠The layer spacing increases with increasing the IL content.
