Abstract
⺠Oxidized aluminum and titanium surfaces were modified by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of 1,3,5,7-tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane. ⺠Our CVD process produced not only monomeric layers but also particulate films by changing the CVD temperatures. ⺠The resulting surfaces became hydrophobic/superhydrophobic with low contact angle hysteresis. ⺠Water droplets on these sample surfaces moved very easily without “pinning”.
