Abstract
⺠We propose a route for the synthesis of a new class of colloid silica cross-linked threadlike micelles. ⺠The threadlike hybrid micelles form from individual micelles by silica deposition. ⺠The threadlike hybrid micelles is the intermediate in the formation of SBA-15. ⺠The threadlike hybrid micelles have significantly improved stability against dilution. ⺠The threadlike hybrid micelles as drug carrier have a higher loading capacity and a slower release rate.
