Abstract
Quasispherical nanosized MoS2 was synthesized from the thermal treatment of ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate precursor. The obtained structure consisted mostly of closed-circle MoS2 layers. This MoS2 structure performed the hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene preferentially via the direct C-S bond cleavage route.
