Abstract
- Presented here is a rare case of ophthalmic zoster that caused cortical blindness and deafness after central nervous system involvement.
- The concomitant blindness and deafness has occurred without retina involvement after VZV encephalitis in a HIV positive patient.
- In any case of CNS involvement after herpes zoster, two evaluations are proposed as necessary, one is the possibility of VZV and the other is the immunity state of such patient.
