Abstract
⺠The export of parasite proteins is crucial to malaria parasite survival. ⺠Two sites are important, the endoplasmic reticulum and the parasitophorous vacuole. ⺠Plasmepsin V operates in the ER to process proteins destined for export. ⺠A Plasmepsin V complex then directs vesicular trafficking. ⺠Once trafficked to the PV, exported proteins are translocated by the PTEX complex.
