Abstract
► The export of parasite proteins is crucial to malaria parasite survival. ► Two sites are important, the endoplasmic reticulum and the parasitophorous vacuole. ► Plasmepsin V operates in the ER to process proteins destined for export. ► A Plasmepsin V complex then directs vesicular trafficking. ► Once trafficked to the PV, exported proteins are translocated by the PTEX complex.
