Abstract
► A functional ubiquitin-proteasome system is required for efficient Dengue virus RNA translation and/or replication. ► Localization of the Dengue virus capsid protein to lipid droplets may temporally regulate virus replication and assembly. ► Dengue virus hijacks components of the host cell lipid metabolism and utilizes autophagy to maximize replication. ► The unfolded protein response is triggered and exploited by Dengue virus in a temporally regulated manner. ► Dengue virus evolved countermeasures to overcome the restriction imposed by the innate antiviral defense.
