Abstract
Isothermal calorimetry was used to evaluate energetics of adsorption of divalent cations on silica-vanillin (SilVan) at 25â°C and pH 6.0. Interactions between the Lewis-acidic cations and the donor atom attached to SilVan are reflected by ÎmonHm values in the order Ni2+ > Cu2+ > Zn2+ â
 Co2+.
