Abstract
⺠Lesions of cancer of the uterine cervix showing a high incidence in HIV-positive patients. ⺠TGF-β1 plays a role in cervical cancer by impairing tumor formation. ⺠TGF-β1 was elevated in cervical tissue in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and HIV/AIDS. ⺠TGF-β1 might be responsible for the higher tumor aggressiveness observed in HIV/AIDS patients.
