Abstract
⺠Forward roll coating was modelled for shear thinning fluids obeying the Ellis model. ⺠Decrease in capillary number increases flow rate through coating bead. ⺠Film thickness ratio is most sensitive to shear thinning for low values of Ï1/2. ⺠Downstream meniscus and coating stability is modelled.
