Abstract
► The typical hydrocyclone might not get a satisfactory efficiency for a gas-liquid separation. ► We describe the design idea and procedure of a new inner-cone hydrocyclone (ICH). ► The new ICH does enhance the gas-liquid separation theoretically and practically. ► The new ICH has a lower pressure drop compared with that of the typical hydrocyclone. ► The inner-cone design would provide a new idea for separator design.
