Abstract
⺠Simulation and feasibility study of the application of toe-to-heel steam flooding (THSF) for low-permeability carbonate rock and heavy oil sample. ⺠Comparing performance of different THSF scenarios with conventional steam flooding (CSF). ⺠High oil recoveries obtained here for the case of low-permeability rock and its advantages over CSF demonstrates an extension of application area of toe-toe-heel displacement (TTHD) processes (which are usually favored by high permeability of the rock), in case of steamflooding. ⺠Feasibility study of application of horizontal and/or multi-lateral wells as an injector for THSF scenarios. ⺠Assessment of different injector(s)-producer(s) types and configurations to ascertain the optimized field development scenario considering operational and economical issues.
