Abstract
⺠We studied two measures aimed at reducing the nitrogen concentration in a tannery wastewater. ⺠Ammonium salts were replaced by CO2 in process and wastewater was treated by membranes. ⺠Two membranes were tested. Different pre-treatments were studied. ⺠Filtration membrane resistances were calculated to study the fouling. ⺠Microfiltration permeate was successfully reused in the tannery in lab-scale drums.
