Abstract
⺠In this work we assess the applicability of the Kotchine theorem to the oxidation of metal particles in a packed bed. ⺠The results are of application in chemical looping technology for carbon capture. ⺠The velocity of the mass front in the bed of particles is predicted without solving the governing equation. ⺠The results are general and extendible to heat transfer in packed beds.
