Abstract
⺠An overview on real-time monitoring issues for special nuclear materials in a reprocessing plant is presented. ⺠The tensioned metastable fluid detector (TMFD) technology is presented for gamma-beta blind detection of neutrons and alpha radiation. ⺠Deployment of TMFDs consists of a combination of prediction via simulation and correction/improvement via in situ neutron/alpha monitoring. ⺠Successful benchmarking/validation of prediction scheme for key actinide isotopes is presented. ⺠TMFD-simulation algorithms framework enable real-time monitoring of SNM actinides combinations for all reprocessing stages.
