Abstract
⺠Continuous-flow mixing of non-Newtonian fluids exhibits non-ideal flows. ⺠The system was studied using tomography images and dynamic tests. ⺠The ratio of residence time to mixing time was measured as a function of the design parameters. ⺠Fluid yield stress had a significant effect on this ratio. ⺠To approach ideal mixing, this ratio must be at least 8.2 or higher.
