Abstract
► Continuous-flow mixing of non-Newtonian fluids exhibits non-ideal flows. ► The system was studied using tomography images and dynamic tests. ► The ratio of residence time to mixing time was measured as a function of the design parameters. ► Fluid yield stress had a significant effect on this ratio. ► To approach ideal mixing, this ratio must be at least 8.2 or higher.
