Abstract
⺠Conventional techniques (LOOCV, U-curve & modified L-curve) may drastically fail on finding optimal PSD from noisy isotherms. ⺠A new criterion (MUC) is presented for efficient and convenient estimation of the optimal regularization level (λ*). ⺠The new criterion is simpler and provides reliable estimation of λ* compared to other conventional methods. ⺠Efficient computation of L-corner has also received proper attention and a simple algorithm is presented for this purpose.
