Abstract
⺠A lattice Boltzmann method was established for simulating Rayleigh convection. ⺠A random perturbation model was proposed for evoking the convection. ⺠The model parameters were identified by comparing simulation with experiment and theory. ⺠The method can capture the onset and temporal-spatial evolution of the convection. ⺠The liquid-phase mass transfer rate is effectively enhanced by Rayleigh convection.
