Abstract
► DNRL was prepared for use as a controlling layer membrane in NTPs. ► NTPs were constructed by a heat-sealing technique. ► Membrane thickness and nicotine content affected the in vitro release and skin permeation rate of nicotine. ► The newly developed NTPs were stable at 4 °C for up to 3 months. ► DNRL is suitable for use as a controlling layer membrane.
