Abstract
⺠In this study, some mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) were prepared using zeolites of 4A and ZSM-5 incorporated in polyimide of Matrimid 5218. ⺠We used the fabricated membranes for dehydration of isopropanol in pervaporation process. ⺠Effects of different parameters of filler type, operating temperature, feed water content and permeate side pressure on pervaporation performance were studied. ⺠The MMMs showed better performances with respect to those of the pristine polymer. ⺠The MMM selectivities using zeolites 4A and ZSM-5 as fillers were calculated as 8991 and 3904, respectively comparing with that of 1276 for the pristine polymeric membrane.
