Abstract
⺠Bayesian analysis is applied to extreme climatic events with 3 key applications. ⺠3 methods (analytical, MCMC, RJMCMC) are reviewed for detecting shifts in a time series of extreme events. ⺠Mixture Gaussian model is adopted for classifying TC tracks into distinct patterns. ⺠A Poisson regression model is developed for predicting seasonal TC frequency.
