Abstract
⺠We propose two new measures of mapping quality to support objective comparison of spatial prediction techniques: (1) mapping efficiency, and (2) information production efficiency. ⺠These measures allow for an objective comparison of mapping algorithms and can be used to estimate investments needed to generate products of specified quality. ⺠The two case studies demonstrate how to calculate financial gain of using more advanced statistical techniques. ⺠Graph below shows how the amount of variation explained by OK and RK models changes based on the inspection intensity.
