Biostratigraphy and paleoenvironments in a northwestern Tethyan Cenomanian-Turonian boundary section (Austria) based on palynology and calcareous nannofossils

► We investigate dinoflagellates and nannofossils in an Oceanic Anoxic Event (OAE) 2 section in the Alps. ► Nannofossil biostratigraphic events are recorded. ► Nannofossil and dinoflagellate assemblages indicate rather low-productivity, low-nutrient settings during the later part of OAE 2.
