Abstract
► Ventilation rate has the largest impact on energy demand in 7 building parameters. ► ERV's payback period (PB) is most sensitive to its effectiveness and capital cost. ► Typical ERVs reduce annual energy use by 8-40% with a two year PB. ► The uncertainty in ERV's PB is up to 17% due to ±25% change in building parameters. ► The maximum uncertainty in ERV's PB is 225% due to ±25% change in HVAC parameters.
