Abstract
► EGR reduces both knock intensity and exhaust gas temperature whit respect to pure air-gasoline fueling (base engine). ► Both air-fuel ratio and spark advance can be improved considering new boost pressure level. ► Optimizing the main control parameters the power output is recovered. ► The new strategy control allows to increase fuel economy at the same power output.
