Abstract
⺠Lightweight and high performance become the key goals for current heat pipe design. ⺠The review indicated that the major developments of lightweight heat pipes. ⺠Using lightweight materials can reduce the weight by up to 80% of copper heat pipes. ⺠If water is working fluid, Al, Ti and Mg alloys must have protection incorporated. ⺠New lightweight heat pipes require a long term effort to prove their performance.
