Abstract
In this paper, the flow characteristics in curved rectangular microchannels with different aspect ratios and curvature ratios for Re numbers ranging from 80 to 876 are investigated. The obtained experimental results are compared with simulated values based on classical Navier–Stokes equations and available correlation in the literature. An empirical equation based on experimental data is proposed to provide a better prediction of the frictional pressure drop in the curved rectangular microchannels.
