Abstract
- Celite® supported lipase sol-gels were evaluated for methyl oleate production.
- A kinetic model was developed that accounts for substrate and product inhibition.
- Glycerol inhibition had a more significant effect than methanol inhibition.
- The optimal methanol concentration was 1.3-2.0Â M depending on the temperature.
- Minimal thermal deactivation was observed over a temperature range of 40-60 °C.
