Abstract
- A new immobilized B. circulans β-galactosidase catalyst was produced for GOS synthesis.
- Immobilization on glyoxyl agarose and three heterofunctional supports was assessed.
- Immobilization was optimized by a lumped parameter considering enzyme activity-stability.
- Optimized biocatalyst was used for GOS synthesis under repeated-batch operation mode.
- After 10 batches of reaction, 1956Â g GOS/g of contacted protein was produced.
