Abstract
⺠CFD analyses of product fill valve for BIB packaging exhibited areas of cavitation. ⺠Several areas were noted as being virtually un-cleanable by current CIP techniques. ⺠New designs using current cylindrical shape showed better performance but poor CIP. ⺠Semi-spherical design showed better cleanability by CIP technique. ⺠This design also exhibited increased mass flow and elimination of cavitation.
