Abstract
► Genetically engineered strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum grows well on grass and corn silages. ► Strain is producing lysine with an overall carbon yield of nearly 10%. ► Strain is robust with respect to composition of silage and oxygen limitation. ► Silages seem valuable raw materials for the production of amino acids and other products.
