Protein expression can be monitored in yeast by peptide-mediated induction of TetR-controlled gene expression

► Convenient and alternative methods to analyze gene function and expression are needed. ► TIP (TetR inducing peptide) can be fused to a protein of interest. ► The expression of a TIP fusion protein can be monitored in vivo by using a TetR-controlled reporter system. ► The TIP tag-based approach is functional in yeast and opens up potential applications in proteome research.
