Abstract
► We constructed a mammary-specific expression construct containing a chimera human lactoferrin gene. ► The transgene of the construct lead to extremely high level expression of recombinant lactoferrin (rhLF) in goat milk. ► The efficiency of rhLF recovery from goat milk was 70% and the purity was above 98%. ► The character of purified rhLF is very similar to natural hLF. ► The rhLF isolated from goat milk had an anti-tumour activity.
