Abstract
⺠Optimisation of a chemiluminescent optical fibre biosensor for microbial detection. ⺠Two types of DNA probes, capture probe and secondary probe, were designed. ⺠Capture probe specificity and sensitivity were determined using the dot blot technique. ⺠Fibre hybridisation steps were optimised to detect the presence of B. bruxellensis. ⺠Results demonstrated a rapid sensitive and semi-quantitative optical fibre immunoassay.
