Abstract
⺠Genetic algorithms can optimize experiments with large numbers of variables (>5). ⺠15-fold increase in perchlorate degradation rate from GA-optimized growth media. ⺠The GA increased perchlorate degradation mainly by optimizing pH in microbial medium.
