Abstract
► Process development of biphasic reaction systems with ionic liquids requires screening. ► The use of a miniaturized 48 stirred-tank reactor system was evaluated for such reactions. ► Similar mass transfer as in a larger-scale stirred-tank reactor is possible at the 10 mL-scale. ► Same conversion is reached at both scales for volume fractions up to 40% ionic liquid. ► The parallel bioreactor system can be used for such biphasic reaction systems.
