Abstract

A new wall structure and its manufacturing technique have been developed. With this technique an experimental wall fragment has been manufactured. It consists of the following layers: internal finishing layer (gypsum boards and vapour insulation), foam gypsum, thermal insulation (polystyrene) and a plaster outer layer. The heat transfer coefficient through the given wall has been determined. The construction element’s heat transfer coefficient (U) was determined by applying specially developed equipment and software. According to the experimental test, the coefficient’s U value for the multi-layer construction with the foam polystyrene thermal insulation is 0.36 ± 0.10 W/m2 K.
